Mobile Cloud Computing: Security and Service Architecture, and Research Challenges
Intervenant(s) : Dijiang Huang (Arizona State University, USA)Abstract
Mobile Cloud Computing is an emerging area that has attracted a lot attention from academia, industry, and government. It is an innovation compared to current Internet Cloud, where computing, communication, and storage services are main services provided for Internet users. We envision that in a non-distant future many of our queries will be beyond current Internet scope and will be about the people, the physical environments that surround us, and virtual environments that we will be involved.
In this tutorial, we will investigate mobile cloud computing technologies. The covering technical areas include: (1) mobile cloud computing infrastructure designs; (2) virtual networking systems that support mobile cloud applications; (3) security and privacy protections to both the cloud system and mobile cloud users; and (4) mobile cloud application developments. In addition to the technical areas, we will discuss the technology development path and our vision on how to evolve mobile cloud computing technologies to support future mobile applications involving both physical world’s activities and virtualized systems, and their interactions.
Dr. Dijiang Huang received his B.S. degree from Beijing University of Posts & Telecommunications, China 1995. He received his M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Missouri–Kansas City, in 2001 and 2004, respectively. He joined Arizona State University (ASU) in 2005 as an assistant professor. He is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Computing Informatics and Decision System Engineering at ASU. His current research interests are computer network and security, and mobile computing. Dr. Huang is currently leading a team to develop a secure mobile cloud computing infrastructure; his team is also working on a secure programmable network infrastructure for future Internet and developing a cloud platform for virtualized network security education.
Dr. Huang is an associate editor of the Journal of Network and System Management (JNSM) and an editor of the IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials. He has served as an organizer for many International conferences and workshops. Dr. Huang’s research is supported by NSF, ONR, ARO, Intel, and HP. He is a recipient of ONR Young Investigator Program (YIP) Award 2010 and HP Innovation Research Program (IRP) award 2011 and 2012. He is a senior member of IEEE.
