Towards Quantum Sensor Networks

This project aims at harnessing potential quantum advantage associated with deployment of bipartite and multipartite entanglement over quantum networks. This comes in line with current developments in quantum sensor networks, which advantage is potentiated by the distribution of multipartite entanglement. The main focuses of this project will concern the description and characterisation of these type of networks, as well as studying some of the possible applications that come along in a paradigmatic manner. This will include creating new protocols that fully exploit this particular type of entanglement in quantum sensing problems and fully determine the impact of important parameters, such as noise, in different use cases. Moreover, we will also concern extending applications of quantum sensor networks to other scenarios that share close resemblance in the problem setting, for example, routing algorithms that optimize a quantum network parameter.
