Special Track on AI for Social Networks, Social Networks in AI

Date limite de soumission 22/10/2004
Lundi 16 mai 2005 au 18/05/2005

On the one hand, there are now powerful AI tools, which have been applied in a number of domains. On the other hand, there is now a well-established community interested by the notion of social network (including virtual community, virtual organizations, etc.). In the latter case, there is mainly a focus on the development of tools for analyzing social networks. Strikingly, however, very few AI tools are used for analyzing social networks and almost none exist to support the emergence, the development and the duration of social networks. Conversely, the lessons learned in the social networks and virtual communities community are not considered in AI given that an important part of AI is very much interested in collaborative work, groupware, and even multi-agent systems.

The goal of the Special Track on "AI for Social networks, Social Network in AI" is to attempt to fill this gap. We are seeking submissions of papers that describe original results addressing issues such as (but not limited to) the following: • Where can AI tools bring a new dimension in social networks? • What needs can we identify in social networks that resonate with AI? • What AI tools exist for which problems in social networks? • How studies on social networks can enlighten AI problems? • Is it an interest for AI-mediated social networks? • Are there some social-network oriented AI approaches?
