Interval Arithmetic: Concepts, Theory, Application

05/27/2008
Speaker(s) : Svetoslav MARKOV - Académie des Sciences de Bulgarie
Over the past decades many specialists from various fields apply interval arithmetic (IA). They have different views on IA depending on mathematical background, theoretical and applicational interests. The lecture is an easy introduction to IA and aims to comment some widely accepted views on IA. We compare some IA results with known results in other areas (such as set-valued and convex analysis and algebra) and comment some basic contributions to IA.
