Wednesday, April 13, 2005Pr. Alfredo WEITZENFELD (ITAM : Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México)
RoboCup soccer is a testbed arena where autonomous robots can compete against each other in evaluating their cooperation and competition abilities. The Eagle Knights team, already in its third year, competes in both the small-size and four-legged RoboCup leagues.
In the small-size league, the Eagle Knights is the currently Latin American champion, having reached the finals at last year US Open, and together with our four-legged team, it will compete for the first time at a world cup, to be held this year in Japan.
The present talk will describe the scientific challenges in such competitions and our latest developments in cooperation and competition among soccer playing autonomous robots.
