Abstract
Mobile Cloud Computing is an emerging area that has attracted a lot attention from academia, industry, and government. It is an innovation compared to current Internet Cloud, where computing, communication, and storage services are main services provided for Internet users. We envision that in a non-distant future many of our queries will be beyond current Internet scope and will be about the people, the physical environments that surround us, and virtual environments that we will be involved. In this tutorial, we will investigate mobile cloud computing technologies. The covering technical areas include: (1) mobile cloud computing infrastructure designs; (2) virtual networking systems that support mobile cloud applications; (3) security and privacy protections to both the cloud system and mobile cloud users; and (4) mobile cloud application developments. In addition to the technical areas, we will discuss the technology development path and our vision on how to evolve mobile cloud computing technologies to support future mobile applications involving both physical world’s activities and virtualized systems, and their interactions.
